Building Better Video Apps with Google Technologies

From education, to entertainment, to enterprise, video integration can be a key component of any app or project. This presentation will focus on YouTube's developer APIs and how to combine them with various javascript libraries and other Google technologies to create rich, interactive implementations that take advantage of all that video has to offer.

Jarom McDonald is an associate research professor and Director of the Office of Digital Humanities at Brigham Young University, and a web application developer for Humanities educational endeavors. He spends most of his research and development time on streaming media and linked data; he works on a number of projects utilizing the Youtube APIs and is energetically looking for ways to incorporate Freebase data into a wide variety of Humanities-based environments as well. He also holds a PhD in American Literature and is an avid baseball fan.
